About Us

Nurturing Farmers, Fostering Prosperity.

Who We Are

The Milambo Cooperative Union was registered on June 18, 2018, under registration certificate No. 5604, pursuant to the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013 and its 2015 regulations. Milambo’s main activities include the cultivation of tobacco, cotton, cashew nuts, and other crops grown by members through the cooperative. This union was registered after member cooperatives of WETCU Ltd from the Urambo and Kaliua districts withdrew through a resolution of the 25th Annual General Meeting of WETCU Ltd held on May 7, 2018.

At its core, Milambo is committed to advancing the agricultural landscape through strategic initiatives in cash crop farming, streamlined marketing efforts, and seamless access to essential agricultural inputs. By leveraging the collective power of its members, Milambo fosters an environment where farmers can thrive, maximizing yields, and capitalizing on market opportunities.

However, Milambo’s mission extends far beyond mere economic gains. It serves as a steadfast advocate for the holistic welfare of its members, addressing diverse needs ranging from healthcare and education to community development initiatives. Through a blend of collaboration, innovation, and unwavering support, Milambo Co-operative Union Limited embodies the spirit of unity and progress, ushering in a brighter future for farming communities.

Our Objectives

Milambo Co-operative Union Limited is dedicated to enhancing the economic strength of its members through targeted initiatives aimed at bolstering tobacco production. By meticulously designing, preparing, and implementing programs tailored to the needs of farmers, Milambo ensures the sustainable growth of this vital agricultural sector.

To further support its members, Milambo invests in essential resources, including land, buildings, vehicles, machinery, and warehouses, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities crucial for efficient farming operations.

Moreover, Milambo plays a pivotal role in the agricultural value chain by facilitating the purchase, sale, and distribution of agricultural inputs for tobacco, cotton, and other key crops. This comprehensive approach ensures that members have access to high-quality inputs essential for maximizing yields and optimizing production.

In adherence to its union regulations, Milambo remains committed to fulfilling any other obligations necessary to support farmers, fostering a collaborative environment geared towards their prosperity and well-being.
